Not to be negative, I know there is lots of good ones out there. But everytime I try to ad one to my curs I do not get positive results. I raised one litter out of one of my good BMC's and a half cur half ridgeback catch dog. Ever one of the pups were real catchy. They really didn't hunt that good, but would always answer the bay. Tried to catch as soon as they got there. Got my curs cut nearly every time. Lots of times the bay busted and would lose the pig. Got rid of them and solved the problem. So I guess I would have to admit they didn't work for me. But like I said I do know fellow hunters that get along well with them. Guess it just comes down to hunting styles.

What you just described is undesired in all hunting styles. Dogs have to be smart and either commit to the catch and be in control or not catch at all. That back and forth stuff will cost you hogs every time no matter what style IMO. I do not know of any one or style the considers that productive behavior. Smiley
