I agree that the Dane has been and is always going to be ruined no matter how many times it shows up on reruns chasing that spotlight over and over on tv, i hunted with them way back, they are dangerous, they dont lock up and let go and kinda sissy fight, they are slow, caca too much and silent and slow, why mess with them. On the other hand, Ninja, be very carefull underestimating weeine dogs, they are still dead game and will go to ground and figh it out, if i had not see some right out of a pound i would not believe it, there are more winnie dog guys hunting than great dane promotors for sure. I would never bet on a great dane to do anything, but i would taken even odds of a winner dog going to ground and catching or fighting a fox coon armadillo badger or even small hogs, i seen po boys run them in cactus on javinlinas in 20 acre patches where big dogs wont hardly enter due to soild cactus pads and thorns, now if we could get some semen collected and bred that to a frozen Great dane found in a Glacier i might take odds on that working hogs but not anything alive today, a monk here where i live used to raise those Harquilin danes, all of them have bad hips and cost too much, i have rat terriers with more leg mussle and bone than any great danes left, they are a ruined breed of show dog, bet on the winnie dog!!!!lol
