When you Barr them cutting there tails makes them grow better donno why , I didn't believe it but my family used to raise hogs an my grandpa told me cut the tails we cut 5 an left the tails they were out of same litter the 5 with tails were 25 or more pounds lighter when we sold them

I don't know for an absolute fact but I believe cutting tails on pigs is done on pig farms because it cuases the tails to curl better and this is desired because in close quarters they bite each others tails to gain acsess to feed and out of habit.  A hog with a long tail will constantly be picked on and wont gain weight as well.

Or so I've been told Undecided



I donno if it works all the time just saying I saw it work on this set of pigs
