Matt....all you need to do is rent some heavy equipment to excavate a pond. It WILL bring rain! Two weeks ago I rented a trackhoe to dredge my pond and dig it a little deeper since it hasn't been this dry since I dug it 5 years ago. It had not rained in months. The day I rented it, it rained about an inch. The next day it rained about .5 inches and it proceeded to rain until they came and got it! LOL!
I wasn't complaining, it soaked in so fast it didn't even knock the dust down. I think we got a total of 2 1/2 inches all together and it sure greened things up quick.
The water in the pictures is the water table, not runoff from the rain.
