yesterday was a shocker for me, I know that. I was actually closer to the bay than Mr. James and Mrs. Dinah but due to where I was standing I couldn't tell what was going on where. I could hear crashing all around me it seemed like. Mr. James and Mrs. Dinah were leading in the cd's nd I tried to slip in to see what we were dealing with but I could never line out where exactly the "bay" was because once I got within 20yds it got really quiet with exception to the 2 bulldogs running in. That hog never made a single sound and I think that most of the dogs were caught before the cd's even got there. I have seen their dog, red, get whooped on pretty good a few different times by bigger hogs and never even check up but when I saw him last night I honestly thought he was gonner. That hog beat that poor dog up one side and down the other. I was right behind James when he legged the hog and honestly it all happened so fast that I didn't get a great look at him even tho I was maybe 4' from him. when that hog jerked from james he about fell over and when I say that hog left out, I mean he LEFT OUT. the dogs that could still stop him tried to but it was no use. Every single dog that I looked at seemed to be cut somewhere with exception to the 2 cd's wearing full protection. I know I said it last night to Mr. James and Mrs. Dinah and I'll say it again here, I don't know what exactly the deffinition of "getting wrecked" means but I will that was the worst I have ever seen a pack of dogs get cut down on a hog.
Out of all the bad that happened last night I can say that there was still an upside to the hunt. That boar hog may very well be a barr or a partial barr this mornin because their 7mth old "tracker" pup had a mouthful of nuts when we got to the bay

. I know that hog is hurtin, i followed blood probly 20+yds from where he left until I turned around to help out with the dogs.
I brought 3 dogs with me. My old dog "smoke" my younger gyp "bonnie" and my 8mth old pup "worm" it was his first time in the woods ever. I have very high expectations for this pup, he is out of my best dog an 8yr old named "smoke" off of Mr. Witherspoons yard and an old gyp named sue sue that Mr. Witherspoon owns. It's an understatement to say that he did not disappoint, he ranged out with the other dogs over 700yds multiple times and was at the bay when I got there. I could have asked for him to do any better for his first time in the woods. I am looking forward to see him progress this next year. Bonnie did really well for not being hunted in almost 5mths.....(she had a litter then I went on a turnaround) she was at the bay also and was covered head to toe in blood but much to my surprise she didn't have a nick on her. Smoke is still ignorin me this mornin because I never even turned him out last night lol.
Anyway I'm done ramblin. In short I had a great time and it was good gettin to meet up and hunt with the Psenciks again, they are good as gold and their dogs aren't far behind em. The pups did great and the dogs did their damndest to make it happen but such is life sometime. happy hunting to everyone and hapy new year!
