well i dissagree alitle tejas and i wish everybody did . i want my dogs trash broke BEFORE i actually turn them out to hunt . when done right myles the dogs don't think that anything but that cow put the hurt on it . i will put the shock collar on the 6 month old pups and let them wear it a few days and get used to it . [ long as they are separated ] so they can't chew each others collars  . this lets them get accustumed to wearing the collar and prevents them from becomeing collar wise . i assume you have bayed the pups on pigs a bit . i will just take the pups to the cow pasture and when they want to mess with the cows bump them without saying a word . you don't have to FRY  a dog just a good bump on about 3 to start then if they don't get the message increase the setting [ each dog will have differant levels of response ] jist of it is you want the dogs to think the cattle are responsible for the jolt . after a cow breaking session i will bay pigs and give them an attaboy . repeat the proccess several times till your comforatable that they are broke . soon you can walk them thru a herd with no problems . i've broke them this way after letting them bay cattle their whole time running loose on the farm till about 41/2 to 5 months old when i penned them up and started working them o pigs . this works for me but there are many differant ways but the sooner the better for me cause i'm ready to actually hunt a dog at around 7 to 8 months old . but heck some fellers don't even worry about breaking them they just hope thay don't wind up in someones cow pature lol .  i did it for years the old hard way hollering and chaseing dogs chunkin rocks limbs boots whatever was handy  lol
