If you put a pedigree side by side with another pedigree, there should be some new "outcross" blood somewhere at grandparent level or parent level. If there isnt, then dont breed the two dogs.

So, yes, breed a grandson to his grandmother; breed a daughter to a father; etc

Now, can a littermate be bred to a littlermate? yes....However, that is extremely tight and be ready to cull very hard, maybe even cull all the pups.
