Mr. Whitten, Reuben, Not trying to hi jack this thread but I have a similar question for yall. How bout a step sister and brother cross?
I have the gyp, 2 yrs. old.    A friend has the male, 10 months old.  They have different momas but same daddy. The daddy died a few months back. I really liked the daddy. Both these dogs possess qualities of their sire. I was hoping to breed my gyp to her sire but that's
not possible now. The 10 month old step brother is the only off spring of his that I have access to besides her full littermate brother. Don't know if that is too tight.  Y'alls thoughts please, or any one elses thoughts.

that cross is not close at all...if the dogs are really good then I wouldn't hesitate to make that breeding...the females brother can be bred right back to one of his best nieces... that is if he is good hunting dog as well...

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog...
A hunting dog is born not made...
