I have given it to them raw before on certain occasions when the dogs worked there butts off stopping it nad I have to gut it in the woods to be able to get the heavy thing out ha I usually feed them the fat right then and there if they seem real low on energy. I usually try to freeze it at least 24 hours first if not then I already expect them to get worms.
