The guys that were nice enough to let me tag along when I first started never put more than four dogs on the ground unless they were training pups. Then it was usually only 1 pup.

These weren't sit back and bay dogs either. They got tight. But that was a long time ago.

I still think catching hogs on a consistent basis is determined by a mix of the dogs AND the hogs.

But...I digress...my opinion...4 dogs is perfect.
