Julie I am sure it could be enhanced in some aspects BUT, timing is everything! and being a good enough dog handler to be able to read the dog and get the timing down will be the key to not dettering the dog in goal at hand. I think your trainer has a good "sense" of alot of things but he also needs to know your dog well enough how much pressure your Sadie dog can take without breaking her.

"Sweet nothings" come in the "tone" enhancements on the TRiTronics collars, that have that option, I use the tone every now and then, it gets their attention too, it could be substituted like the clicker training instead of negative reinforcement if somebody waned to take it that far.
