i took this one to the vet cause hes one of the best i have, hes been there since sunday just talked to vet a minute ago said hes still not ready to come home hes not wanting to eat and drink they had him on iv fluids yesterday and i guess today as well. maybe he will pull through and get to come home one day next week with no infection, i think if he would of stayed on the side of the river i drove around to he would of been fine as far as infection goes but he swam back across and it took alot out of him also. i usually just work on young dogs myself because the vets are so expensive here but its hard to risk that on a good dog that cant be replaced. i kept putting off breeding him and was breeding another male i have that hunts out a little further but i have decided if he makes it im not going to hunt him anymore til i get him bred, and he will probably be laid up the rest of the summer anyhow so ill have plenty time for my female to come back in heat. the last vet bill i had at this office was 1400 my other male dog got his guts and ab muscles cut out, i think this was a little more severe than the last time i dread to get that bill lol
