Ur dang close to that judge. My 2012 cummins started acting like a fool, so I started at the basics, fuel and air. I cleaned the air filter even though when I pulled it out, it wasn't dirty. Then I replaced the fuel filter, which it was coming due but wasn't bad either. After doing those simple things I did a test run on it and of course, still bucking like a saddle bronc. So my thought leaned towards the fuel system more bc it was acting like it was starving for fuel and sucking air. After some not so delicate tinkering with the filter housing inlet hose, I got the line off and turned the ignition on and measured the amount of fuel I got from the priming surge when the pump came on. I did a lil googling and found out my pump wasn't pushing the required amount of fuel out. So again, back to the basics. I jerry rigged my air gun to seal off inside the inlet line, took the fuel fill cap off and purged air through the line till diesel mist was coming out the full port. I put it back together and made a test run. Worked like a new tck. I stopped, turned around and floored it and back to the saddle bronc again. I did this 3-4 more times and finally attempted to drop the tank, but these new fangle style elec and fuel connectors with them pain in the butt clips made me put it back together and take it to the dealer. Driving it up there, the dpf regen lit up on my info cluster and said my dpf was 80% clogged and the system started the cleaning process. By the time I got it to the dealer, it was running better, but still not up to normal. I drop it off, give the service writer the symptoms and my troubleshooting procedures and after 2.5wks in the shop and their attempt to sell me a new pump I got my Tck back. Only thing wrong was I had way to much water in the tank. They drained the tank, the service writer loaned me his Tck to bring them a 55gal drum to collect the fuel they removed from my tank, tested my pump after I jumped all in his a$$ over wanting to throw parts at in hopes of fixing it, which to no surprise to me, my pump was fine, just needed the sludge cleaned from the inlet screen and bam, it was putting out the required psi. So basicly, I paid them $450 to retro unleashing, throw parts at it and drain and clean my tank, which I told them that was the problem to begin with. On top of all that, when they took my filter housing cap off to ck my filter, they didn't lube it and when they tightened the cap back up, tore the owing and wanted to sell me a new filter housing and inlet line that goes from the tank to the housing. All in all, if I wasnt a licensed mechanic by trade! It woulda costed me well over $1000 to fix the problem. Next time, I'll just cut the dang elec wires, splice them back and heat shrink the connection.

Why should I trade one tyrant three thousand miles away for three thousand tyrants one mile away? An elected legislature can trample a man's rights as easily as a king can!
