After reading about ya'lls pains it is hard for me to bitch or complain much as our house / land is still high and dry but we have been pounded down here in southeast texas lately too. I am completely flooded out of both of my deer leases and im about 90% sure that I lost ALL of my feeders, cameras and stands at both of my leases...........here lately it seems like the ol "if it can go wrong it will" saying has been 100% true for me  Angry

I know what u mean. Back in 09 I had a feeder and cam on an island bout mid way between the narrowest part. A wk before the unexpected monsoon hit I had a so called friend go fill the feeder and and ck my SIM card. I was coming home to hunt the following week and supposedly the cam and feeder were still there and he supposedly filled the feeder and claimed nothing worth sticking was on the cam even though I had seen some really good rubs in the area I set up at. Well, after a couple days of rain I ask him to go get my stuff before it got flooded. He claimed he didn't have time, so when I got hm I attempted to go get my stuff, but the water was knee deep in some areas and after an hr (took 20min to walk in) sloshing around i anorted the attempt and went to get chest waders and went back the next morning. By then I was able to troll my boat into the area where my gps said my stuff was at. I knew I was in the right area bc my rope was still in the tree, so I slid out of the boat to try and find my cam. I had to use my legs to feel around the trees bc the water was inches from flowing into my waders. I climbed back in and come to the conclusion, some hole in the butt stole my stuff, I just wasn't sure if it some random person or if the so called friend helped himself to my stuff before the rains hit and took it to his lease. After that, I locked my other feeder and cam up with braided cable on another island and set a cam in a tree to watch my feeder and cam. If the thief didn't have a climber, he couldn't get the other cam and I also welded teeth on a 30/30 coni bear body grip trap and set a couple around the tree where my cam was. Luckily I never caught anything in it, but it sure woulda sucked for the thief since 1 person could release the springs with it on his leg and cell reception SUCKED in that area unless I was 25-30' in a tree, so he woulda been there a while unless he shot the lock off the traps.

Why should I trade one tyrant three thousand miles away for three thousand tyrants one mile away? An elected legislature can trample a man's rights as easily as a king can!
