Ive talked to boarboy about this quite a bit. While I agree with ya'll that the ol man might not be too happy I will say this.
1) he hasn't mentioned that mans name on here, hell he hasn't even told me the mans name on the phone or via text for that matter, id imagine 90+% of the folks on here don't even know boarboys real name much less have a clue who he is speaking about so I don't believe that it is too big a concern.....yes ya'll do have a valid point though, I can see where the old man would be upset IF he saw this no doubt.
2) a real deal get it done type hog dog SHOULD hunt for anyone that drops him, just my opinion ( I know that there are certain dogs that just flat out wont hunt for anyone other than their owner and that's fine and dandy, not arguing that point at all.......however to me that is NOT a trait I would want in a dog personally...... he can be the best damn hog dog in the country for 1 man but if he wont hunt for anyone else then he really ain't worth a plug nickel to anyone other than the original owner which ain't a problem UNTIL that owner sells him)
3) When I was told that the man told boarboy that he was a sure enough go get em type hog dog THEN turned around and told boarboy that if he was hunting the dog with a cut collar or tracking collar that he needed to take em off the dog that honestly threw a red flag to me........ UNLESS the man hunted this dog 1 out every time he went and the dog produced hogs for him how could he possibly know if the dog was worth a dang without running any type of tracking system on it ...........i'm honestly wondering if this isn't the case with the dog that boarboy bought where the dog is great when he is hunted with another dog but for one reason or another wont get gone when he is by himself.......
I honestly don't know the deal with this dog and all of the above is simply my take on the subject based off what I have spoken to boarboy about regarding this dog. He has told me more than once that the man has never steered him or anyone he knows wrong with a dog in the past so I really don't believe that the old man was trying to get over on him but something just doesn't add up. In this day and age who in their right mind would hunt a dog without a tracking collar especially when they just spent 1000$ on that dog.......Just a strange situation all the way around.
