I also use bifen...I order two bottles a year and mix each bottle 50/50 when needed with yard guard and spray the whole yard, kennels and dog houses...just doing it that way has killed about every bug including all fire ants, no more mounds...I usually wait until the mosquitoes are out  before I spray the yard...super good stuff...only downside I see is it also gets the honey bees...
