The Birdseye service is a great tool for a good price. I think I paid $20 for a 2 year subscription. It is particularly helpful if you hunt new places or at night.

It is a bit of a process to get the base camp software downloaded and your hunting areas selected. Be sure that you put the map card into your handheld before you download your hunt areas. I didn't do this initially and it caused me to have to go through the process again. If you travel away from your normal area to hunt, Be sure to download the area before you leave. I made these mistakes and hope this helps you learn from my ignorance!

If you are willing to spend the time in basecamp, you can log your hunts and do a lot of cool stuff with this service.
So Id I go more than a hundred miles away from my house I need to down load more maps?

Thanks shotgun for the help. I will sure do it if I decide to go that route. I like the stock map ok. But I've heard a few people brag about how Birdseye is better.
