Sometimes I will boil a partial hog hide and then freeze it in pieces...just yesterday I took out a piece and thawed it out, cut a small hole in it and snapped a leash to it and dragged it in front of my 7 week old pups and two of the three immediately gave chase and sat back like good roping horses and didn't let go...it took the third pup a little longer to react than I thought she should...normally at 4 or 5 weeks I have pups skip a meal and feed them a raw hog head...just putting pig in their minds...and keeping it positive for them is just as important...
Positive meaning to not feed it to them when they have just eaten because they will lose interest quickly...feeding it to them when hungry makes them eager to want hog...
