Our female, Sweetpea, the mother of our pups has become intolerant of other females being in a pen with her. She is fine with males but wont even tolerate her own daughters. She is fine when hunting but not when in a pen. Anyone else have a female like this?

My buddy has a mt cur gyp kinda like that. When she is in the dog box. Her spot is in the very back outside corner if any other dog looks or touches her. She will give them one quick bite & let go. All of our dogs know this so they give her space. But new dogs learn real quick. Lol

Sounds like the alpha female stage to me. I believe it happens to all females, just something they go through.
