Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog... A hunting dog is born not made...

Sounds like someone fed you some bs to me. Blue is just a color, not a bloodline. There is no bloodline called Louisiana gator and I doubt the dog is a Nigerino bred dog. You probably got a backyard bred "pitbull" that the true ancestry of is unknown but they wanted you to feel like you got something special. Jmho

As a pit bull guy for over 30 years I will say that you don't need a fancy ped to make a good catch dog. That being said you will get more heart and many times more stamina out of gamebred dogs. Being new to this breed you need to raise this dog right to be around your family. Don't ever play tug o war with him on your sleeve or pant leg.Not puttin his teeth on a person needs to be the first rule. He needs to know that above all. Toys hide or whatever you want to play with are fine. Nigerino was not really red either, he was a dirty buckskin with a darker mask. Not trying to start chit but I've had my hands on a few Nigerino sons that were dead ringers for their daddy. Good luck with your pup.
