Saw this on the web. Thought I'd share it here for all the ladies. This doesn't only apply to bulldog folks, it applies to all dog women!

The Dogwoman: The Most Cherishable Breed
 By Hunterman (William Cubero)

"As I sit here and ponder the many thoughts that come to mind, I come to a realization how much we take them (dogwomen) for granted. I myself am a single man who's faced many of life's hardships with a woman who never liked nor understood the dogs; I couldn't even ask her to babysit nor feed the dogs. The dogwoman is indeed a rare breed many of us take for granted.

The dogwomen who love and care for the dogs. Imagine having a wife and partner who loves the dogs, who's willing to help you with them... even breeding them, conditioning them, showing them in all events. Many dogmen today never really realize how wonderful it is to have someone you love that enjoys the same passion as you do, and there are many dogmen who take this for granted as well, never allowing them to share all the wonderful experiences with the dogs.

But here it is: a dogwoman is a dying breed. As in history there where many great ones who acted in the pit as well but a dogwoman is indeed sometimes, and most of the time, better then some of the dogmen I've experienced today. They tend to care for the dogs even better then some of the boys. They are very tedious and well-calculated in the realm of conditioning, for they do more when it come to the dogs' health and well-being. They take themselves very serious since they compete a lot with many modern dogmen. And many of the past dogwomen where never foolish they never spent more than they could afford, they never bred more then they could care for, and their love for the dogs where even more so then some dogmen I know.

As we see many dogwomen more today then many years ago, I seem to realize that times are changing for the better, and when I talk with many of them, I see they have done their homework with the dogs a lot better then some men, lol. What is history if we cant share our passion with the women we love or the women who love the dogs? There are many times I wish I could talk dog with my own wife who doesn't have any care in the world about them. Some time all I hear are complaints that dogs are barking or something for her to bitch about!! Yet a dogwomen would say, "let them bark, they're only dogs!" or she'd go out there and tend to them with out a fuss. God, a dogwomen is great isnt it? Lol.

I myself feel that today's average dogmen have competition from these wonderful ladies. I feel they're smarter, better, wiser, and the most caring about the breed. Look at history's greats in the pit dog world; they bred some of the best around, and the many who entered the circle of life won more then they lost. God you have to be proud of them.

But a dogwomen doesn't have to match a dog to earn this title. Dogwomen they already are after all they put in, just as much time as we men do. Many are treated unfairly, abused by their husbands, and mocked by many because dogmen can be arrogant and stupid. A woman can do as good if not better then some men. I believe they are now the future of our breed as well. I have many friends, dogwomen who are damn awesome and earn my respect. I'm proud of them for all they do. But even as a great dogman, what good is all my fame if I cant share it all with the women I love? I hope one day I find a dogwomen because we would be an awsome team.

Many of you dogmen take a real good look at yourself and be grateful you have a woman who loves the dogs and you. Until then, there ain't nothing better then a dogwoman. I would trade my greatest collection and even my heart to have a dogwoman. After all, a dogwoman is a reflection of a dogman, just much better! Until then, this one for you ladies! Thanks for putting up with all our dogmen/husband's number 2. You are a special breed ............ We appreciate you. Thanks, and until then, I can only ponder till the next time.

 Take care all!

 Hunterman"

Im pretty sure I'm one of the only girls in my area that has her own dogs & actually hunts & cares for them. My friends new gf is pathetic. I know it's not nice to say, but she calls his dogs hers and now claims to be a hog hunter. Mind you she's gone maybe a hand full of times. I could honestly talk dogos with someone all day, I really love & enjoy the breed.

Good read. Sometimes it is difficult to talk "my kind of dogs" with other women my age, but I understand dogs better than woman my age anyways. I can barely let my fiancé walk through the front door before I'm talking dogs with him. Thanks for posting.

I'm glad y'all enjoyed it.

It's a shame. Of all the hunters out here.....I know plenty of guys, but their ol' ladys almost ALWAYS could care less about the dogs, let alone talking about them. Meanwhile I'd rather be engaged in the dog convo that boys are having, but I don't want to pi$$ anyone's ol' lady off with all these darn catty jealousy issues women seem to have nowadays.  Tongue

I only have one female buddy that I talk dogs
to daily, and that's via text only, because she's all the way up in Missouri! She runs dogs and maintains her own yard also.

I also noticed, that people must not be to used to women having their own dogs or something, lol, because anytime my husband and I are out somewhere, or the topic comes up of dogs, folks automatically talk just to him, and when I get a chance to chime in, they look at me like I'm crazy, and then start including me in the conversation lol. All the while looking somewhat shocked.

My better half is all about the dogs. Most of the time when I run she is with me. Loading gearing watching all of it. When one gets hurt she is the doc. When we are at home I feed most days but she is out there checking them all out. If I have to go out of town she handels it no question. She can tell u every bit as much about these dogs as I can. She is a dogwoman. I have a 3yr old lil girl that by time she is 10 will probly know more about dogs than the average guy driving a pickup with a box in the back.

as a little boy my mom did not support my hobby with all my hunting dogs...so I was in trouble quite a bit of the time because I hunted almost every day with them...I had to make a decision and decided being in trouble was worth running wild out in the brush country with my dogs...

my ex-wife didn't feed dogs when I worked OT so it was tough some of the time...but she was also upset I spent 250 dollars plus in long distance calls talking dogs about each month...that was back when 250 was almost a house payment... so I can sort of understand how she felt...

My wife of 28 years has always supported me in almost all my decisions including the dog thing...if I work overtime or anything comes up she will feed dogs and clean kennels...buy dog food, take care of pups and just whatever needs to be done...no complaints...she has gotten up at 2AM to help doctor dogs...she cried when I sold my hunting dogs in 2007 and tried to talk me out of it...I should of listened...  Smiley

I hunted with a woman that out hunted her hunting team and she documented every hunt and how many hogs caught etc...etc...she ran to the bay and left the guys to walk in to the bay...I would see her working the both at baying contests...I reckon the men were hog hunters and she was a DOG WOMAN...

I used to hunt with my younger brother years back and when he worked out of town I went and fed his dogs because his wife wouldn't...he finally gave up the dogs...so yes having a dog woman for a spouse has to be awesome...

i agree...

it also surprises me, a woman that marries a man and will watch his hunting dogs starve before feeding them.
i see this often, men with agrarian type outdoors life styles that marry the most incompatible women.
i will be single a long time (and enjoy it) before i settle for someone that shares no interest with my passions.

kudos to the fine women out there who, rain or shine, hell or highwater, enjoy the work and hobbies of their husbands... it's a rear find, and a pleasure to witness when you see that relationship.

Mark, I bet some of the girls you dated in the past, You never were interested in talking dogs to them. Evil Evil Evil  haha
Dog women are a rare breed & I am sure, fully appreciated by the men who are lucky enough to have them in their lives.
I always thought I needed a dog person & I dated this girl for a while. She thought all dogs should stay in the house & keeping dogs on chains or runners was cruel. She also did not like hunting to much. Well, that did not last to long.lol

True dogmen are a dying breed , finding a dogwoman would be almost impossible I imagine.
