Humid as all get out! But....the dogs did well. Buck struck a group on the edge of the corn. They bayed for a minute or two and broke, Ended up in the brush by the creek. All the dogs got there...even my "Pig" and Emma pups. The bay dogs singled one out and caught it....a little pig maybe 40lbs. Buck and Preacher rolled out and came bayed again. The dogs went to them and man it was some NASTY thick stuff. Unsnapped from maybe 50 yards and heard the hit ....I believe one of the CD's was caught on a pig and got rear ended by a boar hog. He was cut on not flanks....deep. Hogs broke and Buck and Preacher rolled out again. We were having a hard time getting the bulldog out of that thick stuff but we finally did. I ended up having to go back in and sweet talk my pups down a steep creek bank, lol. Anyway...got back out to the corn and I could hear Preacher...way off...that beautiful bawl. Blake had to tend to the CD and I walked down the road...got within about 175 yards....trying to decide how to get to him....wasn't sure if we'd have a CD or not. Blake came and picked me up and we drove into the property and had Preacher bayed to the left about 350 yards and Buck bayed to the right about 75 yards....I guess we drove to close and the pig broke.....so.... I pointed Bella and Buck towards Preacher. The CD wasn't gonna be able to help on this one.....it was wounded in action and out of commission. Well...Bella and Buck went in and we had a solid bay going. I could hear the hog fighting them off. I ain't gonna lie... There was a slight pucker factor as I was going in blind and nekked, lol. Well...I guess Bell heard us coming because at about 20 yards out...she caught. It was nasty thick and I wasn't sure what she was caught on or how long she could hold it....needless to say, I was relieved when I saw it was just a sow about 100lbs. Young Austin legged her and I stuck her. Austin drug her out and she was gutted and she'll be given to a friend of Blake's. It was a good night. Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog...

Thanks Justin....think Blake's Dog will be out for a while but he lived. It was a fun hunt.
Nice to see Preacher pick back up where he left off. Bella ain't nothin special but she's functional, lol. I was sure as heck glad she was there that nite. Those pups of mine are learning...'course it's good for pups every time you can get them on pigs....I'm sure liking what I see out of "PIG" in just the couple hunts he's been on.
Gonna keep getting them out and hope for the best.

It was a fun hunt. Hooch is doing fine now. He caught a big hog night before last with no issues.
