Feels Good !

Me my wife Kat and Kyle took off this morning to a place were some hogs were rooting up a mans hay feild .  He had called several times .  Got there at day light .  I had my young Whitey gyp , my even younger dog called Horn and my blue lacy gyp Bell who is a finished dog and Kyle had  his Jr dog all of these dogs I have bred and comes off my lines of dogs except my Bell dog the only finished dog in the bunch that came from my good friend Tom Graham and she got showed up today by Whitey .

I guess all the work has finally started to pay off on these dogs because today a man could not have ask for a more perfect find stoppem and bayem type of deal.  Whitey hit the ground running soon as the tail gate dropped the bullnumber 2 sure nuff stopped .

Whitey , Horn and Jr were gone then we heard Whitey yip then Horn and Jr and the next thing we know all hell has broken loose on a tank damn about 400 yards away so we get there and there is this rank boar hog about 240 lbs are so with big nice teeth and the dogs had him bayed perfect not to much pressure , not trying to catch but as soon as he would try to take off they would all pull hair out of his ass!   

It sounded like WWIII going on .  So I sneaked around to a willow tree about 25 foot from the bay climbed up and watched as my wife and Kyle did too.  I had my gun lined out on the big boar but could not get a shot because of the dogs so I waited and then the boar tried to break and the dogs ripped his man hood and he stood up and paid attention again so I got out of the tree and sneaked over to another leaning willow tree and laid the Lil Mule across the tree waiting on a shot and he gave it to me the 12 ga slug hit him right behind the ear and the hog sunk to the bottom .

We ran over and pulled him out .  It was a great day for my young dogs I have worked my ass off to get these dogs to were they are and it has took a lot of breeding to get these dogs to bay just right not to tight not to ruff no catchy at all and bitem n the butt when they try to run and today it all came together and they did just that they got a A+ on there grades today . 

Man it sure was pretty and what was nicer about the whole deal is they got this big boy found stopped bayed and held with no injuries .  I guess all the hard work and breeding has paid off.  What a deal ! Sure feels good when you get it right !

A good day for sure! Sounds like all the time, culls, set-back, and heartache are starting to pay off in your breeding program! Like that old Toyota commercial!

Glad to hear ya'll had a good hunt and the young dogs are working well.  I see that you have the hog hunter of all hog hunters with you Kyle.  Nothing can go wrong as long as Kyle is around.

O man ahahahahahahahahah!  Ole Kyle is my buddy .  He has been in training for atleast five years now and is almost a Top Dog ahahhaahahahh!

Well I tell ya Ninja weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh,  it takes a while but I was lucky because I had such good gyps .  They were all on the ruff side and think they are super dogs those kind know what I mean.  I got to admit I myself have never used a bulldog hog hunting really thats the truth even tho I was a breeder of bulldogs for almost 30 years and have seen the best of them.   I do not own a bulldog now a days and have not for a long time we just didn't need one because with four are five of my straight curs no pit no dogo's none of that stuff in them we stopped bayed and caught just about all the hogs we got on 300 lbs and a under really got all the photos and videos to prove it plus the people that were there and witness it.

I got a old stud dog named Deets that is a liter brother to a dog called Lanky over in Buffalo Texas those dogs comes from years on top of years of hog dogs culled hard and just plain good dogs that come from pure hog dog people.  Those dogs come from hog dog people that didn't want there find dogs laying a tooth on a hog and if they did they most likely did not come out of the woods .

Anyway to make a long story short I got two gyps that is the cross blood for for that dog and crossing those two bloodlines makes great dogs it is a proven cross for the last 30 years are so .
So anyway I made those two crosses and I crossed the Deets dog on a couple of my other gyps and so far I could not have ask for more and am shooting big time %'s.

From what I have seen so far the Deets dogs knocks the CATCH out of his offspring but not the GRIT!

I t hink you could breed this Deets dog to a pure pit dog and knock 75% of the catch out of them thats unreal I know but man he will knock it out but leave the grit you need.

So it really has not taken me long  3 years 4 at the most to grow these pups up train them best I can and genetics done the rest.

I pretty much felt like the Deets dog would do that for me but I just never done it cause at the time I was not hunting those types of dogs .  I was hunting the really really ruff catchy type dogs .  I just put him back cause I knew I was gonna need him one day and now am glad I did.   Somebody trying to do this with out those kinds of dogs I would imagine it would take years unless they got the right dogs and crosses.

I must say tho on my part my gyps that I have had for years all have been culled hard and I have had those dogs for years.  I had a find dog named Lil Ann that was a great great dog no longer use because she is half cripple from all the action over the years .  Also I crossed Lil Ann with a Plott dog I had named Mississippi he is Sizzlin Heat / Alabama Hammer bred and boy I got some pups out of that that are now right at a year old and some Hum Dingers one of the males was in on this hunt done great got cut here about a month ago on a bad boar around 260 are so and knocked some sense into his head he really done great today.

Some people on here may know Lil Anns liter Brother a dog named C.O. from around Buffalo some great damn dogs!

Boy all I got to say is that this hunt could have not been any better that how it all happen. All I know is that I had alot of fun seening the dogs back off and bayed the heck out of that hog.
