Dog for stud Cur Females Only

I want to get some pups on the ground out of this dog before he dies.  But I don't have any females that I would breed him too other than his own daughters.  Not asking for anything other than a pup or two out of the deal and just to know that there are dogs out there with this blood that I can breed back to If I need to do so, to maintain this line of dogs as they are getting scarce.  This dog has been on more hogs than most hog hunters, and has hunted up untill he was 12 years old and could still hunt and would find hogs to this day and with a little help would be right there with them.  We just dont hunt him anymore because he is loosing his hearing.  He is a proven strike dog if there ever was one, hunts out medium range, with lots of bottom, great nose and has that nack of getting hogs bayed.  He throws great pups and on a good female should make some awsome pups.  This is an old line of dogs goes back generations, longer than most of us have ben alive thats for sure.  Just a Cur dog this line will work cows or hogs.  Remember Cur Females only and I will probly want to see the gyp hunt first, Don't take it personally if I dont like the gyp.

MR. HG, and realdogs from what I can tell over the internet yall have the kind of dogs I like so if you are looking for some different blood, might have what you want in this dog.

There is a place in Houston that will pull semen off the dog and store it for you so u can use for future breedings.  I think its
Brittmore vet clinic.....

I checked into that.  Not from that particular place, but another.

The cost (roughly) was $500 to pull the semen, and $60 a year for cold storage.  Then to inseminate a gyp was appx. $600.  I was told that dogs have to be cut open much like a cesarean section to inseminate because the cervix can't be palpated like in horses or cattle.  Overall pretty costly.  Have you priced it, jerryg?

Also they said something about storing your own sample in a stock tank or something like that?  They lost me on that part...

The male dog we took couldnt have semen pulled because his testicles were messed up.  0 sperm count.  When we tried to breed a female with another male from the same bloodline, we bought a female for this purpose, she wouldnt take naturally so we went to the clinic. She had a bad cervix and there was no penetration.  Because of this they could not AI her and had to do laproscopic (where they cut and place semen on the folicle).  We were going to have a c section due to the messed up cervix also. Well after all that, she didnt take. 

If you pull semen you should be able to AI unless there is an issue with the female cervix. Dont remember the cost, but if the dog is worth it I wouldnt mind spending the  money to keep the line going....the quote they gave you to ejaculate the male sounds high...

I PM you I can help with some of those semen questions we have a storage facilty in CS  and also portable semen tanks here at the ranch I will help anyway I can.We also have a dog repro person from west palm beach in town and a semen broker that works for us so we have some resources.

I've got a female BMC that is a real gritty dog.  She's more of a help dog than a strike dog but will be one of the first to a pig when one opens up.  She's about a 60 lb dog and has a good handle on her.  If you're intersted just PM me.  I got her a few weeks ago and have hunted her enough to know that she should throw good pups.  I've been trying to decide which one of my males to breed her to myself.  I would be more than happy to send you some pics of her and take them hunting for you.
