Idk if it's just because my cur dogs are young or what, but when it is just me and my friends that usually hunt with me they get out and hunt and just Thursday I had the making 750-800 yrd laps on the garmin staying gone 45 min at a time. Then I go last night with a couple of new people and my dogs followed behind us nearly the whole time like they were scared. Any idea whats going on?

They may have smelled a hog when you were by yourself. Some dogs just don't get interested until they get a wiff of something.

Well it isn't the first time this has happened. Because when it is me and my normal hunting buddies we turn them loose and we usually don't see them till we have one Bayed. Lately I have been having alot of dry hunts due to I'm sure only having a couple of places to hunt and hunting them real heavy. But Anyways, on Thursday when they were hunting good we never struck one, and I it's been bout a two weeks since I have caught one of this place. Idk, I'm hopin they will grow out of it. They are just over a year and my older dog has been out with a broke foot

I am no dog trainer by any means but i have a 18 month old dog and i was easy on him till he found and bayed his on hog after that if he tried noy to hunt i would beat the fleas off of him because i knew he knew what to do. It only took twice i don't have that problem any more when i unleash him he is gone hunting.

Its called getting them solid. Just keep going, taking new people. If they're going to make dogs they will. They just need to get use to different situations. Once they have the experience it won't matter what you do.

sounds to me like young dogs around new dogs.... i've seen often old veteran dogs could care less about being around new dogs but when it comes to young dogs, very often they'll hunt very different or wont hunt at all until they get use to hunting around other dogs

I noticed you said you went at night,,, if they are hunted mostly in the daytime some dogs will not have the range at night as they have in the day..

yeah our dogs act alot better at day then they do at night, and if you bragged on them there gonna do the opposite of what you say about them so be careful what you say

Lol I took them out yesterday with the expectation of a bad hunt and the rolled out whole time! But I also took my other gyp I had been letting nurse a broke toe. And that might have had something to do with it. But yeah I figured out bragging on them don't do any good hahaha
