A couple weeks ago, we took Joe and Miley to the pen to help train their daughter, Daisy. Joe is a laid back type of bay dog that will put teeth on the backside and catch when other dogs catch but for the most part, he stays back. Miley is the opposite. She wants to get in the hog's face and grab an ear if the hog lets his gaurd down. This is Daisy's first time in a pen with a hog and her first time with a hog that isn't hobbled in some way. This is the third hog she has ever seen. We also brought Bullet along (Blue lacy) to let him get a little energy out. For those who don't know my dogs, Joe is the red and white, Miley is the brindle, and Bullet is the blue/gray one. Daisy (the yellow pup) belongs to my friend Joey.

Here are a few short videos...

Some action shots...

Those are the most real life action pics I have seen in a long time.  All of those dogs are top notch, but I really like that brindle gyp.

Thanks guys...

Miley is a brindle bmc. She is the only female on the yard and she is the grittiest one I own. I will be breeding her with my Hoss dog in her next heat. Hoss' mother is a full blood brindle bmc (looks a lot like Miley), so I'm hoping to get more brindle out of the mix. Miley is a good dog, plus Hoss has a lot of great blood from both sides, so it should be a bang-up mix.

As far as their performance, I was ecstatic to see how well Daisy did in there with her parents. Joe was true to form, Miley was true to her usual form and Daisy fell right in between. Joey was smiling from ear to ear (me too). Grin

And my wife says NOBODY is taking her Miley!! Grin Grin

Chris, I'm ready to see Chica working with her momma too.

Thanks again, it's nice to share a fun moment with people that know what it's all about.

Going through the pics, it looks like your buddy had to get down off the barrel. Very good pics. Thanks for sharing.

I like the fact that even as your dogs are getting turned they keep their eyes on the hog, that is how I like a dog to work... good looking dogs... they would fit right in at my house if you decide to part with them lol  Grin

I know where you are coming from. I've had to get off a barrel and stradle a T-post a time or two. There is just something about those hackle backed sows that will make you move.
