I may be relocating to the San Antonio area. I do not care about driving I just would like to know what areas have lower rent without the thugs. Does anybody know of any houses for rent in a decent area with a yard or loand? I looked on craigslist but I have no idea about the area. I prefer out of the city and enough room for a few dogs. You can PM me if like.

Money is on the north side, so land is more expensive.  Living to the south is cheaper, people are more down home, and there's less traffic.  Plus, you are closer to hog country.  Grin

Try along HWY 181, IH 37S, US Hwy 281S, IH35S, or along LOOP 1604 of the southside

What was posted above is true. The further you get south towards Pleasanton the higher the rent is going to be due to oilfield demand. I'd your looking for a rent house with land I would consider some of the close small towns like Lytle, Castroville, and any others that are 20-30 minutes away. You can also do a google search of realty offices in the smaller towns. Sometimes they can point you in the direction of rental property owners that may have something in that area.

Oil is the reason I may be moving. I may end up in Midland or somewhere in between. Either driving a truck or working on a frac crew. I just went and got my CDL with all the endorsements. I passed the hazmat test but I don't have the money for the background check until the first. But I already have my TWIC card and they did a background check so the background check should be back fast. I don't do drugs or even smoke. My only bad habbit is hog hunting. I hear people complain about being outside in the weather, getting dirty and all that. As long as I don't have to go into a waller I am good. If I have to go into a waller I want to get paid for it.

If anybody knows of a company hiring let me know. I am sending off applications and would like to know what companies are good and which ones to stay away from. I have heard of people having their paycheck bounce or dangerous equipment that should be replaced.

Go in person. The company's I know will not pay much mind to emails or phone Calls. Take a day and go down there.
