I hear what you are saying Ruben but the dog was supposed to be a long range cast dog. Seems like I'm stuck with him now though

Keep working on his trusting you...there are many great dogs that will only hunt for their master...hope he is one of those...good luck...

in the past 10 days, did you ever follow the advise of some and go back to the man for help with the dog?
word might have gotten back to him through the grape vine that you accused him of burning you instead of you going back to him immediately and asking for help, instead you accuse him first, hear some say you need to go back to the man, some say to try some things and so forth, but you wait to long, and IIIFFFFF word got back to him, he probably said piss on you and went on about his business. but on the other hand, you might have just got burned. but it seems from this post, you called him out without going back to him immediately to address the possible issues and possibly seeded a god man's name. either way, like you said, your stuck with him, so as some have said, make the best of it and earn the dog's trust and see what he is really about in time.

I talked to the man 3 times about the dog before I ever posted. No one knows who I'm talking about and 90 percent of the people on here don't even know my name.

and there lays the IIIFFFs, which is exactly why i put them in long caps. but it seems odd that you spoke with him 3x about the dog before posting and then all of a sudden after you posted this, you bring the dog up and he hangs ups. its odd. something happened. I'm not arguing with you either. I'm actually saying something is odd when before everything was ok. but on a side note. just bc 90% don't know your real name or anyone on here knows the man, remember there are 10% that do know you. even with all the people in this world, its still small, especially in groups that are small to begin with. so don't think someone who knows you doesn't know someone who knows someone who knows someone and so forth that might actually know both you and the man, even if its by proxy.

If someone would've told him I said something why would he bother answering or not mention it when he did if he was just going to hang out as soon as I brought up the dog?

that would be a question to ask him, not me. i think outside the box, so I'm running different scenarios of what could have happened, especially when you said you did get burned bc when u brought the dog up, he hung up. did you get burned, possibly, possibly not. the only person/s who really knows, is GOD, the man and maybe you. we ALL can speculate, but in the end, WE on the other side of the screen who were not present during any bit of this transaction are only getting one side, only bc the other person isn't on this site publicly or even knows about this site. so the rest of us have to go only off what you say, NOT CALLING YOU A LIAR!!!!!, so we have to interpolate everything with only half the picture.

i got burned by a guy who i thought was friend over a dog and $. i was told the entire litter died and a yr later get a call from a stranger who offered me a dog and after hearing the age and bloodline, i told him i wasn't interested in buying my dog back, and i explained what happened and everything was fine between he and i. but, backing up, i sent a bitch up north to get bred, she evidently was bred when i handed her to him, he didn't want them, so he did what needed to be done. waiting for her next cycle, she took, pups born and then at 4wk old, they supposedly all died. the deal was, he breed her, i get 1 fm pup and he keeps the rest and sells. well, he sold them alright, along with my fm, sold her right out from under my nose. so, yes, i know where your coming from by being burned by supposed friends.

but again, I'm just thinking outside the box. in my line of work, i have to look at many many different avenues of approach for a possible upcoming problem, or a solution to a problem that doesn't pop up in the troubleshooting tree.

My first question is "why are you still protecting  this dog traders identity? "   You obviously got "took" so let's hear this guy's name.  I have no respect for this kind of behavior and feel if he doesn'the want to take responsibility  then at least he should have his "name" tarnished for this phony dog deal.  At least his reputation can suffer if he wants to operate like this.

Well heres my honest take on the situation after hunting behind the dog this past weekend for what its worth.... he got burned on the dog flat out, no need to sugarcoat it BUT the dog did show us a few things. First off there is no way that the dog is the age it was claimed to be, having said that I can honestly see the dog eventually turning on, he didnt burn the woods down but he didnt stay at the buggies the whole time either. He rolled out a couple times to around 5-600yds in a pine saplin thicket and gave it a try. Was he worth 1000$? In my opinion, nope. BUT i think if he gets fed tracks and worked with he could turn into a solid dog down the road. The way i look at it he has already spent the $, might as well give the dog an honest chance. Just my .02 cents

As Justin Corbell said I've spent the money already and the dog is starting to show a little something. Just gonna feed him tracks and hope for the best. Ain't gonna throw names out because I'm bigger than that, anybody that's on here new to the sport learn from my mistake as I did and If your gonna buy a high dollar dog BUY IT IN THE WOODS LOOKING AT A HOG.
