Got invited to a quota hunt at Tosohatchee on Friday.I brought Cypress,Hambone,Ginger and Dozer.We were first in line so we head to a spot I like in there where you can generally get away from people.Head down a trail and cut em loose doesn't take long and they jump the hog heads east bout a mile then south bout a mile then back west.They finally get him stopped .65 south through the woods no trails from my direction but there was a road just south of them about 350yds.Start to them through the woods and at 900yds can really hear them hammering.At 600yds everything goes quiet finally get there Cypress and Hambone are gone Ginger comes to me at 50yds tail tucked.Walk to the seen and some MFer has my boar hog bout gutted with two 130lb hairy ass mutts growling at everything.He tried the old your dogs came to my hog my dogs caught B.S. So I set him straight with a few choice words and he left.So I head to the rd it's plain as day what happened his tracks skid to a stop right where they're bayed and dog tracks leaving truck straight line 350 to my bay.Anyways go to Cypress and Hambone,Cypress comes out first and her back right leg is about torn off chewed up real bad from the knee up the flank go catch Hambone and the same thing back right leg about rung chewd up bad from the knee down.Both are the kinda damage I won't know until a couple weeks or so if they're gonna be usable legs anymore.Looked to me like those giant dogs tore my dogs up B.S. needless to say the hunt was over and after seeing my dogs I wish I woulda put a couple lumps on his head too. Damn cracker, that sucks. Your evidently better natured than I am. There would've been and still would be another hunt but not for a hog. He'd learn something. That makes me mad just reading it. I can only imagine how you feel. I hope they get alright.

Sucks Casey. Hunted in there quite a bit years ago. Spent a night in Orange "County", as well as, $4200 in court costs over a dog stealing incident in there 17 years ago. Hope your dogs heal up.

That's a frequent thing on the pearl river wma, just last Saturday me and Billy both had a dog baying on a sharp bend in the river, instead of swimming a slough I went to get my boat to pick them up and go across the slew, well my boat flooded out and we weren't 100 yds from the bay and two jack asses come pulling up with only a CD in their boat and proceed to try and got to our bay right in front of us, I bailed outa my boat as they were pulling into the slough we were trying to get across and evermore threaten to whoop their as$ if they turned that bulldog loose, they went to mouth back off and I reminded them that were in a creek that had one way in and one way out and i would fill their boat full of holes, anybody who knows me knows that's COMPLETELY out of my character but after having it happen about 12 times last year I wasn't going to have it happen right in front of me, I will not fight over a hog on public land due to just that fact it's public but to blatantly attempt it in front of me just set me off, I know some may think I'm conceited but I know what I'm breeding, feeding, and hauling to the woods and have confidence in them, so I'm not worried most times when some folks with a pack of 20 land sharks on the ground has "my dogs come to their bay" b.s., most of the time I tell them it's no problem that I can remember how it was when that was the only way I knew how to catch a hog and my dogs weren't any good, they actually have people who ride around waiting to see others races cross the road or hear a bay and will dump 4 box loads and take off to it, I HATE having to run into other folks and very rarely hunt the public land on that account but when I do I try my damn best to stay clear of the crowds and other hunters even if it means venturing into no mans land and going where the hogs aren't easy to get on, when I got back to the landing after the little incident I was talking to a local river rat who lives down there and he knew exactly who I was talking about and said that's all they do they don't even own bay dogs, the day before we had a bay that we knew for certain was ours but had some others dogs get in on it, so I left the hog at the base of the tree and ran into the other hunters coming in as I was going out and told them exactly how it happened but wasn't going to argue over a hog that it was laid by a tree if they wanted it, I made some new friends right then and there because they couldn't believe it, I took them back to the spot of the bay and even helped them gut the hog, what your describing happened to yours dogs is my next biggest fear other than having one stolen because y'all may think I'm exaggerating but they really do have groups hunting in there with 20+ dogs on the ground, and it wouldn't take that many very long to rip a strange dog to shreds...

Goose we had the same dog stolen twice, both times out of the woods. Got him back quick the first time because they were running their mouth and bragging. The second time they sold him for 1500 a brand new tracking collar and squash a debt owed. One person saw a social media picture with him in the back ground and screen shot it and sent it to us. Some more buddies knew the guy and we wound up getting him back. His dumb a$$ wouldn't tell who sold him the dog but offered to pay us the same money so he could keep the dog. It was one of 2 people. When it comes out, and it will, everyone will know they did it. I can't stand people like that. I try to help too many hunters around here for some punk to do dirty. But, that's exactly what got the dog back. Again, I hope these dogs get alright and that hunter gets what is coming to him.
