Had a hunt for a couple of hours Friday night & couple more hours Sat morning... Got 3 sows & 5 boars A few pics of the better ones - Me with Ash (6mths)  A couple of seconds after the bullet bumped him in between the eyes   Me, dogs & boar   |

Thanks guys... The gyp with me in the last picture is B.L.T's Opal. I shipped her & male from Barney a couple of years ago. They are baypen pen stock that have some good breeding amongst em. I took a risk bringing in baypen lines but have got lucky & have turned fine. Opal is my main finder, exceptional on the ground & will track for fair distancews on fresh scent. She went her farthest so far this hunt getting out to 1.8kms & the astro showing her bayed. It was across 2 foot of water in a swamp, long grass & paperbark swamps...I couldn't get to her so made my way around as close as could by car & started walking through the swamps. 30mins later she left the bail. It was mid morning (we were actually on our way to our next job) and about 37 degrees celcius & 90% humidity. I was glad she left the bail & a cooked dog was becoming very real. When i saw her come out of the long grass, she was still runing flat out, nose to ground & loked at me as if to say "what? Where you been?"   To be honest i have never owned a dog with as much drive & determination as her. Her pups are heading down a similar path  The other dogs are all dogs i have bred over the last few years. Good decent size boars are pretty common up here in Northern Australia. It's good to sort out the good dogs from the ok dogs. As some of these fellas really test a dogs stopping ability! |
