I use a tracker classic II two collar system just make sure everything has good battery's in them, to get use to the signal turn one of the collars on and put it out some where and ride off 100/200/300/ and so on then play with the near/far switch and gain knob to learn how to dail in the signal, the lower the gain setting a little at a time till it can just pick up the signal then face towards and away from where you know the collar is and you'll start to get a feel for how to narrow in on distance and direction...  When i first got mine I gave my boys the collars and we play hind and seek with them,  I gave them a 5 min head start then I start dailing them in and find them it was a good way for me to get use to the system.  hope this helps
