Cut
« on: April 18, 2011, 09:20:44 pm »

Hey y'all... Grace got a cut 2 weeks ago in the bay pen, bout an 1.5 inch long, 1/2 inch deep right underneath her jaw... We put two stitches in, but she popped them both out somehow. She can't lick it, too high, but it's NASTY looking, and doesn't look like it's healing any.. Any suggestions?

Run water on it 2 or 3 times a day for a few mins and maybe a couple shots of pen. 2 cc a piece if it is starting to stink better hit her with something stronger like baytril

Chockie got the same cut the other night from a bad hog. I never do anything to them when they get cut. Woody will lick on them and keep them clean. It'll usualy take 3 weeks for it to start healing up.

I use Granulex on my horses all the time, just didn't know you could use it on dogs too.

Again, thank you guys for all the help. Sure is nice to be able to come to y'all for help.

PS. I fond out last week, Grace and Garin are gonna be parents! She is due at the end of May, which means that I will be in Canada getting married while she is in Texas havin puppies... Kind of sucks that I'll miss it, but such is life I guess...

Hydro therapy, betadine flush, and vetericyn gel spray.....that's all I use.  If the cut is REALLY bad I'll use antibiotics but that isn't very often.

I use Granulex as well. Nitro furicin is one of the ingredients in it and it's just listed N.F. It's great stuff though for sure

I bought some stuff the other day because a buddy said it worked. It is called "Simply the Best Wound Healer Ever Made". All I can say is that it works great.

It cured up my athletes feet too with one dose.

Where do you get the granulex because I always got to try anything.
