Due to other commitments I could not make this hunt, but my friends and one of my dogs was there, so I was still pretty dang excited for them.  Here's the story as it was told to me....   This hog has been dogged in the past, and has always managed to shuck the dogs. One of his ears is ripped from a bulldog getting slung. The landowner has been seeing him on his game camera for several years, but has never attempted to shoot him, as he wanted to dog him.  My friend Ben went out there Saturday morning with two dogs. Chili ( who is a daughter of Mandi's Lizzie dog ) and my colored dog Brandy ( who is a daughter of Mike's Tweety ).   They dropped the dogs in the area of the game cam and in short order the hog was bayed. The bay broke, and he took them on a 1.5 mile trip into the thickest vegetation in the area. When Ben and them finally got there after fighting the brush and crawling in the real thick stuff, they were able to shoot the hog.  They got Brandy and Chili to some water and called it a day.  Brandy has a litter of 6 week pups on the ground. According to Ben,it was a last minute call to even put her in the truck... but her and Chili make a hell of a team, and the ol girl just looked like she wanted to hunt.   Grin

Later on Ben and the landowner went back after the hog, as they wanted the head, and to figure out what he weighed. Hog ended up bottoming a 320# scale, so they don't really know his actual weight.

Here are the pics.

That's a hero hog boys.....don't blame you for being proud of your dogs,...and old wise boar hog is hard to kill. Unless he's all swelled up in that pic I'd say he was over 400.
