Whats the best thing to treat an ear infection?

man i've tried all the home remedies you can think of for the past , well long as i can remember none worked if you here fluid in the inner ear go to the vet . antibiotics dont work allthese miracal sollutions dont work the vet will sell you some drops [steriod type ] that will clear it up but if you don't be careful it will come right back . now i'm a man that don't like doctors or vets but if you want it fixed go see the vet

my old gyp used to get them BAD. she got so used to them the only way you could tell is she would start walkin crooked. The vet used to give me pills and drops. I dont have any or id send them to you. If your dog is shaking its head or cocking it to the side (bad ear down) its got one. call the vet, nothin else works. my vet used to charge like 30 bucks for the pills and drops but its been a few years.

If it might be water on the ear, it'll create a fungus; to clear/clean that just use straight plain rubbing alcohol, it'll clean/sterilize kill fungus,etc. was a standard procedure for us when scuba diving. Any other problem like mites/ticks,etc. can use plain mineral oil, have done so many times in past cures/cleans clears up problem.

x2...however, if it is ear mites are causing the ear infection I would give 1.5 cc of ivomec a week for 3 weeks if it is a 50-60 pound dog and I would also rub some ivomec in the ear. |

Man thats exactly what he's doing, my brother has some of those steroid drops from the vet so i guess i'll go get them and use them. How long do i need to give him the drops? |

the vet told me to give them till there gone , but the first time i did 'nt and it came back had to start over

Man thats exactly what he's doing, my brother has some of those steroid drops from the vet so i guess i'll go get them and use them. How long do i need to give him the drops? i had to do a few drops twice a day, plus the pills. |
