They were coming across the boarder so I started shooting. I shot a few and then some started heading back to Mexico so I shot as many as i could to stop them.
Ok I was dove hunting on the Rio Grande and I was shooting doves. It was hot. but we did see fifteen to twenty people come out from the river area a run into the brush. Next the Boarder Patrol drove up and asked and I pinted to where they went and that they had a radio in the front and a guy in the back sweeping the footprints. He did not need much info and the passenger BP jumped out and ran into the brush and the driver took off. Looked kind of like hog hunting. It was like cops live.
Got the limit on morning doves and a few whitewing. Just got my shower and will be ready tomorrow. If anybody is coming across the river don't run by our trucks. Stay in the brush and go down the road to cross. That way they don't call in the helicoter next time.

If the dove flies across the river instead of the bridge it bypasses imagestion it would be illegal. So there should be no limit on the illegal birds. Please don't explain why the birds can have limits I am being silly. Just having fun on a great hunt and talking lots of smack.

Just to let those people know that could not make the trip that it was a blast. There were hunters from all over Texas and Louisiana in the area and at the hotel. Were stayed just outside McAllen. The Rio Grande was beautiful. It was hot so I stayed under the shade of those expandable tailgating tents. I stood up to shoot a few times. Mostly I sat in the chair and enjoyed liquid refreshments while shooting. I got my limit the fastest. It was funny to hear all the shooting then as the bird flew by me I would shoot once and the bird would just fold up and fall. Then I would take another drink and go get the bird. Sometimes shooting another on the way. I had two birds come in straight at me so I got two birds with one shot. Then on the way to pick them up I had two more birds come in together. just as I was about to shoot they split so I had to take two shots. Not bad having ffour birds on the ground at the same time with three shots. I wish I could do that every time We never got bugged by the Game Warden or anyone else. All in all it was a fun trip. Now I just need to get another dove hunting spot closer to Houston. I just got a call to find out the place up here got burned in the wildfires. I will just get my BB gun and shoot them off the lines Next I need to get a 410 pump to take my boy. My wife was the real trooper watching all three kids and taking care of my dogs for me. Now I need a new bird dog but don't tell my wife
