The peanut patch paid off again tonight. Caught the first spotted boar of the year. This was a test for Glen, first time out at night. Ran him with Curly to catch and AJ to strike. Ross brought his two rough dogs and his pit. We pulled in to the field and put AJ down to work, only a hundred yards in AJ threw his head up and ran into the field.

Ross has got one of those remote controlled spot lights on top of his truck so we shined the light and see AJ spinning a pretty good hog. I send Glenn and Curly off the truck and they run side by side to the boar and hit up straight away, each with an ear. Glenn held untill AJ knocked him off his ear and he moved to the back and set that boar down (Stags will not generally fight for position so that is not a problem for me). Ross sent his dogs looking to pick up another pig but that boar was the only one in the field. One good boar 2 miles from the house and no dogs cut. Glenn is good to go. You can't see them in the pics but this boar was not that big but had 2 1/2 inch cutters.

Thanks,
Paul T

gotta love them peanuts! we've been hittin a peanut field in between two cotton fields the last couple weeks but never at the right time til early sunday mornin. ended up catchin three out of em.  makes for some fun huntin in open ground if you can catch em in there at the right time.
