Went out this morning with my dogs Rita, LT and catch dog Pacman to catch a hog. Got to where I wanted to hunt and there was a lot more water than I planned on seeing. I should have took that as a sign.
Walked a little ways and Rita and LT were rolling out. They were about 300 yards out when LT opened up and the race was on. The hog took them around in circles trying to lose them. They finally got a hog stopped (not sure if it was the same one or not) ,about 900 yards out, what looked to be on the gps right this side of a river. When I got close I realized my gps lied. The dogs were about 100 yards on the other side of what looked to be part of the river and they were hammering down. Me and PacMan found a tree fallen over about 3/4 of the way across and decide to cross there. When I got to the end of the tree we jumped in the water, it was about waist deep and freaking cold. I let go of Pacman and got to the bank just to see him tangled up in the limbs so I had to get back in to get him out. When he got to the bank he ran to the bay and caught. Not the biggest hog but LT and Rita did great.
After getting some meat for supper I realized Id have to get wet again to get back. I spent the next hour or so teaching Pacman how to swim.

Every bit of water we would come to he would be behind me as I was crossing then I'd hear him whining standing at the edge of the water. Seemingly he will cross for a hog but not for me. Cant say I blame him that water was cold. All together was a good hunt (besides the mile or so walk back soaking wet) and I would do it all over if I had to.
