I'm only asking because of all these dang hog hunting TV shows ... do yalls hogs really KILL your calf's and cows? Now that being said I seen them eating dead cows but in Oklahoma we don't have a problem with hogs killing are calf's. I have seen them eating in feeders with calf's, bayed hogs in the middle of cows, hell I have even seen a herd chasing hogs out of the field but never hear of them kill calf's here.

dang okie that show is entrtainment for the city folk lol not a documentary . but yes givin the opputunity a sounder would eat anything they took a mind to . young turkeys , fawns . and if a heifer was off by herself calving and a sounder came upon her who knows what might happen . but to chase down and eat cows i have to laugh . i had an ol pinto sow that i raised and if a chicken got in the pen to eat corn it was nothing but a race. most didn't make it back over the fence lol . i watched her catch a few in mid flight . i lost a bunch of good young stags to that hog lol, but just natures way of culling the slow dumb ones lol

Yes, we lost 5 or 6 calves five years or so ago to hogs. My grandad kept telling me hogs were killing these first calf heifers calves. I didnt believe him till I went out there one night spotlighting and saw a cow that had just calved walking, her brand new calf walking behind her and about a 230-240 lb boar right behind the calf. Needless to say I shot and killed it, we havent had any trouble since though.

Well duh. They destroy anything in there path. Women, children, calves, whatever it comes across. You've seen what ol Robert says at the beginning of the show. Pigs are blood thirsty savages!

Yep I concur.......We had to travel into a neighboring county couple years ago and track down a serial calf molesting barr hog. He only struck on full moon nights and usually left a path of seduction and savage lust behind. After you see a couple molested new born calves....it....it....just breaks your heart. When we finally caught up to him he blamed the system...for his missing hardware and showed no remorse for his actions of unequivocal savage brutality in the most perverse ways imaginable to young bovines. Hope you Okies dont ever have to deal with this type of Barr usually referred to as Porkacows here in Texas. Good luck to you boyz.

Seen it around here a few times, not super common, but it does happen. Even seem some ranchers lose calf and cow if they catch her while she's in the middle of calving. Would start with the calf and work their way up to the cow if she was too weak to get up and get out of the way. Anthony
