I was wondering who in Texas has a solid line of blackmouths that sells a few of their pups. I'm not looking for a line of suicidal rough dogs, but a line that is on the loose side but has the grit to stop a hog. I'm located in the central Texas (Brownwood area), just looking for a pup or two to raise hoping that I might be able to add them to my pack. Looking for some input from guys on this forum that know their dogs, any help would be appreciated. Also if you know someone that has a lot of brindles, I'd lean more towards them. No specific reason just always wanted one.
Thanks, Taylor darden

Years ago, I bought a bmc from Howard Carnathan of Tupelo, MS. It was down from his BRUNO line. He was a good dog. My guess is, he had more bulldog in him than papers said. Carnathan is out of dogs due to poor health, but his bloodline is still around. Maybe you can find some. Also Guy Ormiston of Wynnewood OK used to breed very good dogs. Not sure if he is still breeding. Drop him a line at RR1, Box 181G, Wynnewood, OK 73098-9793

Mark actually has some pups on the ground right now. I was over there Sat night. Good looking group of pups. Give him a call and be ready to talk for a while. LOL! If he doesn't answer just keep trying.

There on the dog trade for a reason. Have you seen these 2 pups? How are you gonna tell a man that his pups are garbage just because he chose to list them on the dog trade? I've hunted behind a lot of dogs out of this blood line and they have all been good dogs. Just make sure they fit your hunting style. Short and rough. I will say a lot of crap gets sold in the dog trade that should probably be taken out back and culled but that isn't always the case.

You're assuming, because I never once said anything negative about the dogs at all. They're on the dog trade for a reason whether it be they're garbage, may bark to much, the guy don't have room or time for them, or maybe he's got many puppies. Find out the reason they're on the dog trade and go from there, you might find a diamond in the rough. You tried calling me out and put words in my mouth, both of which were uncalled for. Next time read the post and don't assume anything.

Next time read the post and don't assume anything. You are right, on the dog trade for a reason. I have to admit, when I first read your comment, I took it wrong too......However, a man can only have so many dogs.....Plenty of people, including Stokely, have hunted behind this bloodline and should be able to vouch for it. I have the sire of these pups in my yard, and he outstruck 4 other "finished dogs" and 1 "started pup" as recent as this past Saturday. He is almost 8 years old too, so cant be too rough, or is just smart when he is rough, because he isnt dead yet... Imagine how he was in his prime? ANYWAY, I am not here to sell dogs that arent even mine. I just know that if someone is looking for some good young pups to get started, then these 2 should be as good as they come at 5 1/2 months old. I also have a gradson of this 8 year old dog, and at 3 years old, he is a damn good dog. Goes by the name of "Buck"

Sorry if I mistook you. I read it a couple times and that's just how it came across. Didn't mean to offend anyone either.

I don't remember Yeller being real short range or to rough when I hunted with him several years ago.
