Ben those are for sure pretty. What I have found about breeding more domestic in them is you dumb the hogs down. They can be trapped easier and caught easier. Every time I have turned some real good blooded hogs loose I hear of the neighbors trapping them. Hope you can get them all to survive.

That's the kicker right there. They don't seem to last to long. A blooded sow will have a big litter, but the pigs are tame, and a rooter sow won't have many, and she'll usually tame down by the time she's bred. Turning boars out ain't much better, woods hogs will fight with him til they eventually kill him, so if anybody knows the trick, y'all pass it on along. I wish I could could get the blue hogs to take hold though. |
