Anyone with a degree or working on a degree in this field. If so what are your pros and cons.. Do you think.it is a degree worth pursueing? All input.is greatly appreciated.. Thanku and God bless

The degree covers a broad spectrum of things that you can do pertaining to animals. . I just dont know many people with the degree. Thanku for your input

I got a degree from Texas State in that and Gen Ag Science. Lots of jobs out there that apply to this. In this field, most of the employed are within 10 years of retirement age and there's not many younger people filling these positions. Young person with a degree in any Ag-related field has a great shot of being picked up fast. Just something to keep in mind.

I have animal science degree with emphasis in beef production, which is the same as husbandry. At university of Florida you did all your basic animal science courses and then you took classes in what your main emphasis wanted to be such as bovine, equine, porcine, ovine or meat science. There are lots of directions and jobs you can take with that degree. Me, I'm just an educated cowboy running my dads ranch, but wouldn't trade it for anything.

Thanku guys for the responses. Ive been doing alot of research on this and for the first time in a long time I am exited about school.. Im NOWHERE close to a cowboy but I spent the last 4 years working for a pasa fino horse breeder and I get a chance to work for the spbr rodeo.. Ive always been intrigued with working with animals. Started off as a sports managment majot. But my heart wasnt it..again thanku for your insight!
