Last night, texas_hog_hunter04 and countryman563 hunted with us out at the rice fields. We got started about 10pm. Sent the dogs along a road that borders between the woods and rice fields. It wasn't long before they all bailed off into the rice. About 20 minutes later we heard them bay. They were about 200yrds out and we were sure hopeing that the hog would turn our direction so we didn't have to walk through the flooded rice field. While we were sitting there watching the garmin to see which direction they were going to take, a few of the dogs bayed and caught right behind us (about 50 yrds) on the road we were standing on. We all ran over to see what they had...it was a nice little boar. Cody threw and tied it while me, James, and Heath were catching dogs, because the dogs that were out in the field came to join the party! The dogs that came out of the field all had blood on them, so we are pretty sure that they had one down in the field (didn't find that one). We had a good time hunting with Heath and Cody, they were good sports and a lot of fun to hang out with. Can't wait till next time.

It probably would have been killed if we hadn't got there like 1 minute after it was caught. There were three fo us grabbing dogs in a hurry. Grin

No Collin, Ammo and Red were not allowed to get in on that one. That's why it's still alive. LOL Grin We are goin' to have to put Ammo on something big pretty soon though, he's starting to get depressed. Wink

Sometimes that ole' rice and milo will irritate their eyes like that. We just wash theirs eyes when they do that. They usually get over it in a day or two.

I really hope that she does let you post some pics, sounds like some good hogs. We haven't been on anything worth bragging about since it got hot, not sure where all the big ones have gone to. Undecided One thing is that they have been harvesting in our area and the woods just got logged a little, I think maybe that has them pushed out for a little while. When they come back, we'll be waiting on them. Grin

The owner of the property told my husband that there was one other guy who had permission to run dogs out there, must be your buddy.

Yes mam he told him the same thing that there was one other out there...But he did not say there names But if you had someone else hunting travis is the guy because he is trust worthy and honest and won't tear up anything picks all his water bottles up...We seen some beer cans and we picked them up just so they don't think we are throwing them down we don't even drink....Might be the loggers!!!!You will have to meet travis... his best dog over heated a died the other day!!! We don't hunt much at night we seem to catch lot more hogs in the day time.....There is alot of hogs there we have probally caught about 15 this month there!!!! Couple of nice boar hogs!!!I have not been everytime with him we have other place we hunt alot!!!!

James starts his 7 off on thursday. Pretty sure we will. He is working graveyards so he is asleep right now, I'll have him give you a hollar when he gets up.

All of those cans you see laying around are due to all of the treaspassers joy riding. They are getting a gut full it and fixing to put a stop to it. They are very picky about who goes out there because they have had their equipment tore up and some round bales set on fire in the past.

We have been going at night because its just too hot during the day.
