I came across my folder where I keep my pedigree/registration papers....got to thinking about the pedigree from my 1st American Bulldog Princess. She is ABA and NKC registered. I gave her to a friend due to her aggression towards Macho...when she was 2 and he was 1, they would get into it and for some reason she would NOT stop fighting. After a few seconds into the fight, Macho would lay down and give up-she would keep the fight going as if she was bred for it-I got fed up after the 3rd fight and placed her in a home to be the only dog-here I am 8 yrs later and she's the best dog he's ever owned(pretty much an inside spoiled AB)....n e way This is her dad Bo....he's got a neat pair of eyes which I've never seen before .Princess had 1 or 2 litter mates with a single glass eye(if it is called "glass eye") just wondering how rare/common it is ? and if it's considered a defect in the breed? BDAB's Bodacious... Forgive me if the pedigree is confusing....I had my wife take the pics...she could care less about this topic, lol

If I'm not mistaken....which I MAY be....I believe blue eyes is a "fault" in the NKC's breed standard. It does look neat though. My AB has chestnut colored eyes.

Blue eyes I guess is more like it....I've heard of the cat's being famous for glass eyes, figured it was the same look(I've never owned a Cat)....-I was thinking how Bo could pass for a ABxCat cross....he was at best 100lbs I think.

Well the guy that owned BDAB's and Bo is a good friend of mine and I have had my hands on Bo many many times before he passed and that picture is not him. He did not have glass eyes. I am not sure who that dog is in the picture but this is BDAB's Bo in ped database pic http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/american_bulldog/dog.html?id=1619713-bdabs-bodacious

Unless there are two BDAB Bo's. And yes it is recessive trait and considered a cosmetic fault. I think it is kinda cool looking personally.

Saw that you lost contact. Yes I think my buddy was trying some years ago to get back in touch with the folks he sent that dog to after Bo died to try and get some of that blood back.

That's a cool deal..., I'm trying to get in touch with the owner of Bo II -his name is Jody....no luck yet....I'm supposed to breed Princess her next heat cycle which would get that bloodline back available as far as It looks..hopefully spring or summer they tie....
The owner of Princess wants to duplicate her since she's going on 9 yrs old and never produced a litter.

Yes that is him and I do remember that joker. He was a real nice pup. That female ya have sounds just like stuff down from that. He was in Waxahachie south of Dallas. I have a grandson down from Bodacious II's littermate brother crossed with some gamebred stuff that is really nice. That Bo was the baddest AB I have ever been around in my twenty years in the breed. Great great dog. Puts his stamp on his pups and grandpups. He just did not have the wind to match his heart.

If he is still alive that would be awesome. Post a pic of your girl and her ped if ya don't mind. I would love to see who Bo II was bred to. As far as the eye thing it was not real common with BDAB dogs that I saw. Bodacious II was the pick of that litter and if we were told right ended up being a monster of a dog. His brother was a real cool dog but passed last year. He was a hog catching machine.

He's alive and doing great, 12 yrs old now....
Bo II was bred to Tori....a small frame 75 pound gamey type bulldog..sure grip, Blackwell, some Johnson .I will get the pedigree posted when I get a better signal. She's the "chain link eatin" "gotta have 3 strand electric fence" type gyp.....I had her for a while then she went down to Ada OK to a hog dogger, she did good last I heard but she died.

I'm not too sure about the AB's in the line up. I do remember Princess though. Every time I'd put her lead on and start walking her---every few minutes she would have a dry cough---as if she was clearing her throat. I asked the vet about it but don't remember too much, this was in 2008 or so. It got on my nerves and made me wonder what's in her throat to randomly choke every now and then---i just had to ignore it.... I had a friend put her brother Cowboy on a hog and he caught like a natural....but a month later they gave em back. They said he was too undershot to hold solid. Can't remember his wind ....really solid built dog though.
