STRICTLY for GOOD dog deals. Deals that you were happy with. NO Bashing or calling anyone out.

This COULD be helpful. Maybe something to look at....if your one of those guys who is just getting started or doesn't have a whole lot of contacts. You can see how many times a mans name comes up. If you see it a few times...chances are he's a good trustworthy fellar.

Worth a shot anyway.

And no professional dog traders hyoping their dog trading buddy's or their own alias'!
In my experience, i've had great dealings with Monty Bennet, Tom Franklin( tenn hillbilly). And Dustin Day.

Mike Cauley AKA Cajun on this board. Honest about his dogs. Doesn't sell many grown dogs here in the States, but will sell some puppies out of each litter, he raises for himself. Mike could probably sell 10 litters a year for $600 each, but he prices his pups for the average working man that has a family and bills to pay. You can't go wrong with his Plott Hounds, well bred, taken good care of, hunted hard and culled hard. If you get some of Mike's Plotts, you will start catching those running hogs that have been getting away. But get ready for some vet bills, those Plotts are some ruff suckers.------Mike Starling

DJhogdoggers ( James and Dinah Psencik) from all of my experiences with them you can take their word for gold. Great people with good solid worknig dogs. Very happy with the dog I purchased from them and the pups that they recently passed to me.

I can't speak for Mike but I don't trust many folks sometimes due to dishonesty and sometimes because what someone else considers a good hog dog I will call it a cull...not saying they are wrong just different ideas as to what a good hog dog is...

I am picky about what I like so as soon as I have what I like I try to breed my own...

Totally understand what your saying Reuben...and I'm the same.

BUT....you started somewhere. If it just so happens you weren't that impressed with the dogs you started with or the person you got them from that's understandable.

Maybe you weren't happy with your dogs till you started producing your own. That's cool too.

I'd rather see that on this thread than have a name posted just because that's how you got started.

Kevin, I thought that this post was JUST for people whom you have had good dealings with on this forum, not overall. I'll extend my list a bit.

Mr. Witherspoon - 90% of the dogs in my yard come from him or are descendants to his dogs that I have bred myself, if that mans says the dog is a good dog you can take it to the bank, and yes you can quote me on that.

Mr. Coburn - Davids dogs are all closely related to mine and Mr. Witherspoons as well and if he tells you the dog will hunt then the dog will hunt.

Mr. Picou - Same as the 2 above

thats about it for me, took me a while to acquire what i've got but once I did I got rid of the other nonsense I previously owned. I'll be the last to say that they are perfect or the best BUT they suit me perfectly and i'm more than happy with em. I don't think that I will ever make a change, sure I may add something here or there but as the old saying goes "if it ain't broke don't fix it."
