My dogs will bay a group of hogs also. Most times when you turn the catch dog aloose that's what brakes the bay.
We use no guns.

Bryant, Yes, it's work with both batterys, two smaller ones do give a little more strenght. I have a web site you can order the batterys cheaper if you want it just e-mail me. I use Quick track, Johnson and tracker collars and tracker puts out the weakest signal. I think it's the size wire in the ant. but what do I know.

Most of your are right on track, they start out as steps and take over. Hard for me to understand why other dog hunters want stand together to protect our hunting rights and then they fuss because a small few didn't win the fight. Pig Snacher, We have a member that works to help other states ste up a dog hunting group, also we're a member of US Sportmen Alliance, and would help you get help from them. We're here for you if you ask. Just e-mail me or better post on www.tdha.org and we'll be glad to help you out. Right now there is a PAWs law trying to be passed all over, states and federal, to stop breeding with out a lic. and if dog doesn't have a permit they will all be fixed. Breeders will have to buy a lic. each year and turn in records. We need to stop talking, join together and prepare for what's coming.

Been going for the last 9 years. Don't bay any dogs but get to see a lot of friends from last year. Lots to see under the trees and will be some good and bad deals so visit a lot and choose wisely.
See you there.

Mandi, do you know of any good organizations that cover states other than Texas? Our local dog hunters association is a joke to say the least. I'm the first to agree that something need to be done. Are you talking about the Texas Dog Hunters Assoc??? Are you a member and will you stand with me to stand up to these changes in laws, do you support the Dog Hunters Assoc? We have a legal fund and we aren't afraid to use it but we need backing in the town that the law was changed in. We support our member and the Board of Directors make the call on what fights we enter and we're also backed by US Sportmen Alliance. It's one thing to get on here and say so in so isn't doing anything but it shows the ones that conplain the loudist isn't supporting and want stand with any one for the fight. Until we put personal feelings aside and work together as a Dog Hunting Group we'll keep loosing the fight to Preserve Dog Hunting. Hope to see each of you at the Expo this week end and we'll be having a Board of Directors meeting and you can get something brought up. Mike Bowlen here on this site is a Board Member. Give him your questions and let him bring to the meeting.

HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Re: Who has hunted off of horseback? related info ONLY!

Sean, When you have a big enough place hunting off a horse is the best way to go. The dogs have to be horse broke and have some manners. Get to the bay faster and see more woods than on any 4-wheeler. This the place you can use a running catch dog because you can get there faster. I like it because it's relacking and refreshing and you can hear a lot better.
Have to watch out for the tree limbs and vines.

Jason, Red mange can be stopped with Tackic, can get it from a Vet. Use 15 oz. to a gal. of water soak coat every week untill hair comes back and repeat if comes back. Red Mange in males and females, dog shpould be fixed when well to cut down on coming back. Stress is a cause of out breaks.
