Many years ago I used to judge alot of bird dog field trials. One of the things I noticed is this. Many of the guys in Texas thought they had to send off to Tn, Ga, Al, or Fl to buy a dog. The guys from Tn, Ga, Al, and Fl, went to Texas to get their dogs.
I used to be guilty of this...But I eventually found the best dogs right here in Texas....I have been to tenn, miss, la, ill...and the show me state...ultimately...breeding and selecting my own from some good foundation stock is what pleases me the most...once I settle on some dogs I don't bring in any new blood unless it is needed...
