Well I just ordered me some Victor 24/20. I will let ya know how they do on it. Been with a bunch of foods like Blackgold, Evergreen Performaxx, sportsmix, Diamond, etc.... After reading all the positive feedback and talking with the folks at Victor dogfood about the ingredients. Hard to pass on a good dogfood with a good price. Time will tell

They used to tell us to keep 8 to 10% difference in the fat and protein ratio of our dogfood. I went to the 24-20 after my vet told me that on hard working dogs (especially those that worked in extreme conditions which is where he would place hog or cow dogs) that most studies are recommending that we keep the protein between 20 to 25%. He said that after they have reached full growth it becomes very hard on their kidneys at the higher protein levels. Fat should be in the 18 to 22% range for working or pregnant dogs and 10 to 15% for old and nonworking dogs. Protein builds and repairs muscles, fat is the gas that keeps them going.
