Interesting story.

Yesterday I was driving the back roads up here (for work) and saw a fellow on the side of the road. He had a dog box in his truck and a Garmin Astro in his hand. So I stopped to talk to him. He was was running Walkers on yotes... so I mentioned I was from TX and just getting into hog dogging. Well he got all excited and said his dogs had just bumped one about 10 minutes before I showed up. A hog in PA! Apparently there are a few sounders up here where I am working. The season before last he and his buddies had shot and trapped about 20. Noone is really running them with dogs as far as he was aware. It's only a matter of time until there are hoops of them I thought. Now I am not so sad to be up here working! I think maybe the next time I come up this way there will be a few jagds coming with me. The fellow was a nice guy. Real nice guy... said I can tag along on a yote or cat hunt anytime I want.

Country folk and dog men are the same all across this country. Good salt of the earth type people.

Where in PA are you at?  I would love to find a place to hunt up north.

I'll be back in March and if the offer still stands I will certainly go. I appreciate it.

I'm currently running through Northern PA, up through Susquehanna, Tioga, etc. counties. Visiting all the rigs Chesapeake has running. There are a lot of serious dogmen up this way.

Doesn't seem to be a hoop of hogs up here yet, but it can't be long. PA is going to mismanage the crap out of these things and they'll be all over in no time.
