Anyone in the Waco area that would like to help please contact Tina.  The anti's plan is to take us down one municipality at a time.

Centex Kennel Club in Waco has organized opposition to Mandatory Pet
Spay/Neuter and the Intact Animal Permit that will be voted on next Tuesday.
They need your help. A "Protest Rally" is being held at 9:00 AM Saturday
morning in front of the Waco City Hall. They need a big turnout at the
Rally Saturday and for the vote by City Council next Tuesday. If you can
help, contact Tina
tina.b.patterson@att.net or call on her cell phone: 254-749-5404.

Hey everyone!
See what is going on in Waco. We are NOT going down without a FIGHT!!! Click
the weblink.

There's a lot more happening to fight this, such as a "call-in radio show to
discuss this issue coming up, hosted by us in the club." If you are
interested in what is happening and/or want to help out, please email me and
I will make sure you get the updates. Even though you may live out of town
and do not receive our radio program, you are still encouraged to call in to
the radio station during the program to voice an opposition to mandatory
spay neuter programs in our dogs. PETA people are behind all this. They had
their people at the previous council meeting and they spoke very harshly
against breeders and all that we do. They lumped us all in together with
"irresponsible puppy mill breeders".

The city council has been working with the shelter and PETA for months
preparing all this without any of us knowing about it. They had intended to
"pass this ordinance" secretly and without opposition. I found out what was
going on 45 minutes prior to the first meeting of the council on the
subject. I called everyone I knew and 3 of us were there for the first
meeting at 3 pm. The vote was to be at 6 pm. By that time we had recruited
10 people to talk in opposition; but due to no notice, none of us were
prepared (or dressed appropriately); but we all issued a "passionate plea".
However, we have been working endlessly for the past two weeks, and we are
amazed at the help we are receiving to fight this. This time we will be
armed with TONS of facts and statistics to counter their arguments! We may
not win; but we won't go down without a fight! And I really don't think any
of them are expecting all this. Pray for us. Root for us.
Spread the word. And please help us in any way you can.
Ways you can help:
Send emails and letters to the councilmen and mayor.
Call into the radio program with your objections and examples of what "has
not worked in the city where you live".
Those that are able to do so, come attend the meeting and testify at the
meeting of what does not work where you are from, etc.
Anything else you can think of would be greatly appreciated!
We are optimistic . . . We CAN DO THIS!!
Thanks a lot!

Change of Location for Waco Protest Rally Saturday! Radio Call-In Show
tomorrow (Friday)!

Cen-Tex Kennel Club could not obtain a permit in time to hold their "Protest
Rally" Saturday at the scheduled location. Please read Tina's email below
regarding the new location with directions and parking information. Read
the information on the local talk show tomorrow!
Cen-Tex Kennel Club is opposing the Mandatory Spay/Neuter and Intact Animal
Permit proposal which is scheduled for a final vote next Tuesday.

If you can help, contact Tina
tina.b.patterson@att.net or call on her cell phone: 254-749-5404.
If you haven't contacted Waco city officials yet, please do so. We hear
they are beginning to wonder what they've "stepped in." Attend the Rally
Saturday if at all possible. All roads lead to Waco!

Tina (with Cen-Tex Kennel Club) writes:

OK guys, we need "radio callers" tomorrow morning. Four of us from Waco's
Kennel Club are going to be on a local talk show, The Shane Warner Show,
discussing the spay/neuter ordinance. Also on the show will be several of
the animal rights activists. This should get "interesting"!

The program is from 8 am - 9 am CST.

The station's call numbers (here) KWTX 1230 am. It is the "Shane Warner
Show", a talk show. The telephone number to call in on is: 254-296-1230

It would be great if you guys could all get that station. That would
probably be too much to hope for; but perhaps it could be picked up on the
internet.

The NEW LOCATION for the demonstration is going to be Waco's Heritage
Square, 3rd & Austin Avenue (Austin "dead-ends" into the Square.) The
Square is situated between Franklin Ave. and Washington Ave. It is right
across the street from the Waco Convention Center (Waco's old dog show site)
and the Hilton Hotel. You can park at the Convention Center or next to the
Square. There is also parking across Franklin at the strip
shopping/restaurant center. We do not need a "permit" for this site; so we
hope there will be no problems.

Expect PETA folks and animal rights activists to show up. Feel free to tell
them to "Leave"! But DON"T get into a shouting match and watch your
language! The media would LOVE to get that on tape! It would be the only
thing placed on the air. Make sure you bring "poop bags" and pick up any
messes your dog makes. We need to be "peaceful" and make a "good
impression".

Can't wait to see everybody there!
Tina
