If you relocate and release a hog,,  how far does it travel?   If there's a food source does it hang around ?  I was asked this and every hog ive ever trapped or  we've dogged were sold to a buyer or endded up dead.. so I have know ideal how far one travels after it's released....and it's illeage to move and release a hog right??

It's only illegal if you get caught , I have noticed if you only move them a few miles they go back where they came from

I have done some relocating of a lot of barrs an such and I put them in a place that has 2 tanks an 2 corn feeders there an I put a secret recipe out that they like to root up an around and they are in a place where they are not bothered an they seem to stay purdy well it actually has drawn other hogs to the place.

In Texas if you relocate a ferrel pig it must be neutered before being released. Relocating could be ten feet in theory but there is no distance in the law. If it is released without being neutered either on purpose or on accident you broke the law. If you put it in a pen it is not released but if it escapes it is the same as you releasing it. You get the picture. Barr em if you move em and you don't have to worry.
